Nvidia filed a lawsuit against Samsung for alleged that the South Korean company has infringed its patents for graphics chips, and one application was some of the most popular devices of Samsung to be phased out in the United States.
Nvidia has filed a claim for patent infringement to the Commission on International Trade of the United States and there are accusations against both Samsung, and against Qualcomm. It said company supplying processors that power most of the leading Android devices, including a Samsung. To move Nvidia resorted once led over the last two years negotiating licenses apparently failed. "Samsung has repeatedly said that these are problems that primarily affect their suppliers and do not concern us," said David Shannon from Nvidia. According to him, this is the first time in the 21-year history of Nvidia, when the company was forced to seek patent rights in court.
Nvidia claims that neither Samsung, Qualcomm nor paid the license fee for that use its proprietary GPU technology. According to the company 12 devices Samsung, including popular models such as the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Tab S and Galaxy Note 3 should be stopped.
